But, I cannot figure out where. It has a sticker that says put oil in the crank case but i cant see where. Does a 2 stoke engine just require cycle 2 oil mixed in with the gasoline only at a 40 : 1 ratio??? by the way it does have an additional sticker of the 40 :1 ratio as well.

Most 2 stroke engines require only oil mixed with the gasoline. However, if the engine has a sticker that says to put oil in the crankcase, it is possible that the engine requires both oil in the fuel and in the crankcase. If there are stickers that you can read, you may be able to determine the brand and model of the engine. If you can do that, you may be able to find detailed instructions on the internet or contact the engine manufacturer by phone.

Is it possible that this is not the original engine that came with the generator? If the sticker that says to put oil in the crankcase is not on the engine itself, it may refer to a previous engine. It is also possible that the generator builder uses both 2 stroke and 4 stroke engines and someone put an extra sticker on en error.
